This essay will be a blessing to any coach or entrepreneur who feels "stuck" in their business... but doesn't know why! After reading, you'll know which of the three "success gaps" you've fallen into and, most importantly, how to get out of it. Fast.
Dear Coach,
Entrepreneurs fail because they fall into one of three gaps. Almost every stalled goal, dead dream, plateaued business, or abandoned idea can be traced back to one of three gaps:
Let's figure out right NOW which one you've fallen into so we can get you out TODAY.
This is the most obvious one. You simply don’t know what to do yet!
You don’t know the steps. You don’t understand the mechanics. You’re missing a framework.
If you’ve never launched a website, podcast, blog, webinar, or coaching offer before, of course you feel confused. If you’ve never run sales calls, of course you feel awkward. In other words, there are things you want to do, but don't know how to do.
That’s not a character flaw. That’s just an information gap.
And information gaps are the easiest to solve. You read a book. Read some blogs. Take a course. Ask a friend. Hire a coach. You compress time by learning from someone who has already done it.
But here’s where people get stuck:
They assume every business problem is an information gap!
It’s not.
At a certain point, you DO know enough.
You're just not taking action on all that information you now have. Which means you're falling into...
This is where things get real.
You know exactly what to do. You’ve watched the webinars. You’ve taken the course. You have the book. You know the plan. You understand the strategy.
But you’re not actually executing. You're not applying. You're not implementing.
This is usually due to:
Perfectionism.
Fear of visibility.
Fear of being judged.
Fear of selling.
Fear of it not working.
The implementation gap is where most entrepreneurs quietly live for years. They stay in research mode because researching feels "productive". It feels safe. It's easy and familiar. There's no risk. It gives the illusion of progress without the exposure of action. I call this "procrasti-learning", by the way.
But information without implementation is just mental masturbation. You have to move from "data collector" to DOER.
Bridging this gap requires movement before confidence. It requires publishing before you feel ready. It requires selling before you feel polished.
At some point, you don’t need more knowledge. YOU NEED TO ACTUALLY DO THE THING.
Do it even if you're scared.
Here's the kicker....
Just doing it randomly or sporadically can bite you in the ass. Be sure not to fall into...
Now THIS is the most underestimated gap of all.
You start strong. You finally start taking action. Hell yeah.
You launch.
You post.
You show up.
You feel momentum.
And then you stop.
Not because it failed. Not because it wasn’t working. But because success wasn’t "instant".
Consistency is where compound interest lives. It’s where trust is built. It’s where identity solidifies.
Most people never give their strategy enough time to work.
They post for two weeks and say content doesn’t work.
They sell for a month and say their offer isn’t viable.
They tweak constantly instead of staying steady.
They quit before they start seeing results.
The consistency gap isn’t about intensity. It’s about rhythm.
It’s about choosing a simple plan and staying with it long enough for results to compound.
This is where real success happens. Quietly. Repeatedly. Boringly.
And beautifully.
When something isn’t working, ask yourself:
Is this truly an information gap?
Or do I already know what to do?
If you know what to do, ask:
Am I avoiding implementation?
And if you are implementing, ask:
Have I been consistent long enough to see results?
Be honest.
Not harsh. Just honest.
Because once you correctly identify the gap, the solution becomes simple.
Different problems. Different solutions.
The longer you stay stuck, the heavier the story becomes.
“I’m not cut out for this.”
“I’m not disciplined.”
“I don’t have what it takes.”
But most of the time, you’re just misdiagnosing the gap.
Success isn’t mystical. It’s structural.
Close the right gap, and everything accelerates.
Which gap am I currently in — information, implementation, or consistency?
Where have I been telling myself I need more knowledge when I actually need more action?
What would consistent execution look like for the next 90 days?
If I removed perfectionism, what would I publish or launch this week?
What is one simple rhythm I could commit to and not break?
