 The goal of an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultation

is to create a detailed, personalized health enhancing protocol that addresses your unique needs and restores MindBody balance. You don’t have to be unwell to experience the benefits of an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultation; your objective can be to simply have a better overall understanding of your life and health. As an Ayurvedic Health Counselor, I will help you understand your biological constitution (dosha) and provide holistic recommendations, regimens, routines and rituals to help you balance your dosha. Balancing the dosha means bringing body/mind back into a state of harmony and ease and activating your natural healing response. For those who are suffering from an emotional or physical imbalance, an Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultation will provide a heart centered approach, an eastern medical perspective and help you manage your symptoms.

During your Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultation, you’ll undergo a complete:

Medical and lifestyle history, Ashtavidha pariksha ("Eight-fold" Ayurvedic examination) and an in depth Doshic Assessment; all of which are designed to look at the body both as a physical system as well as a field of intelligence. The recommendations I will then provide are based on a multi-modality therapeutic approach which include Dosha specific: 

  • Diet and nutritional guidelines 

  • Pancha Karma (detoxification regimen)

  • Color therapy 

  • Aromatherapy

  • Yoga

  • Pranayama 

  • Meditation, mudra and mantra 

  • Vedic Counseling

  • Dinacharya (daily rituals and routines) and Ritucharya (seasonal rituals and routines)

Your Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultation will answer important questions like:

  • What are the best foods and dietary guidelines for me?

  • What style of yoga, or specific asanas, best suit me?

  • What specific mantras, mudras and meditations are most beneficial to me?

  • What does a healthy daily morning routine look like?

  • What specific colors, aromas, oils, crystals and sounds will balance and soothe my dosha?

  • What habits, behaviors, thought patterns and belief systems can I adopt, or let go of, so that I can heal and move forward?

  • What’s standing in the way of me living up to my highest potential?

  • What areas of my life need attention and healing?

As an Ayurvedic Health Counselor, I look at the whole human being

and my foundational belief is that every person has within them the wisdom and capacity to heal themselves. This healing relies not on medicine and interventions alone to treat the illness or imbalance, but on techniques that remove blockages and bring the body back to its natural state of balance and harmony. Remove the blockages, and the healing energy of the body flows like a river. This is called svabhavoparamavada - helping the body call upon its own energy to heal. There is already an innate, effective natural healing mechanism in place that leads us toward balance; medical interventions can be a vital part of the process, but they only serve to support the body’s self-reparation and are not the cause of it.

If you’ve ever had a cast put on your arm or leg to heal a broken bone; you know that the cast is not doing the healing; it’s just holding the bones steady so that the bone can repair and heal itself!

The truth is, the human body is an ultra sophisticated, highly intelligent, self healing biological machine. When imbalance or dis-ease occurs, we would do well to focus on removing the cause/s and address the root of the issue instead of just managing symptoms.
